Hi there! Today I am super excited to be back on my blog sharing how to create cards with an elegant and simple stamped and shaped edge. I will be showing many examples using a couple different shapes and types of images to show that it can be done with a large variety of stamps!
For all of the cards, I used Bristol cardstock and Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens to get a nice bright and blended watercolor effect in my images.
To cut the stamped border out, I lined the cards up in my trimmer and cut a line avoiding the actual images. Then, I used scissors to cut a border around the stamp to create the fun shaped edge.
For the first examples, I used the Smile stamp set from Jane’s Doodles and created a scene with adorable animals and some smaller flower stamps. Putting together the smaller images in the set to build a little scene can be very helpful.
For the second cards, I used the Food On The Go stamp set and stamped some lunch image scenes. I love these images from Jane’s Doodles for this technique because they are simple shaped and easy to cut, but they are super fun to color!
For the last examples, I used the Simon stamp set and created a love scene using a bird after a fish. This was harder to cut out since the images varied so much in height. However, lining it up with the smaller image when cutting gives the perfect edge!
