Hi there! Today’s video shares two ways to spotlight a stamped image or scene using dies and coloring to make it pop from the rest of the card. This post is also part of the Pretty Pink Posh blog hop to celebrate the awesome new stamps, dies, and sequins for July (more info at the end of the post).
Watch the full tutorial HERE in HD!
For the first card, I stamped a hot air balloon scene using the adorable Fly Away Friends stamp set. Then, I cut out the center using the biggest Stitched Diamonds die which adds fun stitching detail on the edges. I popped up the middle portion with coloring to spotlight it and embellished with the Tutti Fruitti sequin mix!
To color in the inner panel, I used Peerless watercolors to get super vibrant colors that stand out from the white cardstock. I also painted some blue cloud patterns in the background to make it stand out from the white background.
On the second example, I stamped an underwater scene across the card using the Sea Friends stamp set. Next, I die cut out the scene on an angle using the largest Scallop Diamond Tags die which gives some fun scallop and stitching detail on the edge. Then, I popped up the outer panel and added the inside window flat onto the card. To finish off the card, I added some of the Mermaid sequins mix and white pen detail.
To color in this panel, I used Copic markers to save time and get great blended results. I added some wave patterns in the background to make it pop against the white cardstock.
