Hi there! Today’s video shares an easy way to create your own stamp layered backgrounds to create elegant and stunning stamped panels for your cards. This post is also part of a fun blog hop to celebrate the third-anniversary release of The Ton Stamps… congrats Effie! 🙂

On the first cards, I used the Peony Notes stamps to create beautiful layered backgrounds full of flowers. I saved time by stamping three different cards at once using the MISTI stamping tool with several different inkpads (linked below)!
For the second example, I stamped on Ocean Mist cardstock (a darker color) with white pigment ink and layered my colors on top. This creates a lighter look, but it allows you to stamp on darker cardstock with cleaner looking colors.
On the last card, I used the Timeless Peonies Print stamp set and created a dark background with lighter contrasting flowers. I had lots of fun playing with different color combinations using these stamps! 🙂

You wouldn’t think these would be so easy to make multiples of, but they really are just amazing. Also, well done on making a red and green card that doesn’t read Christmas to me. That takes some doing! Thanks for sharing these lovely cards.

Simon, these are great! The one with the green background reminds me of a print that used to be in my grandmother’s house so it made me smile immediately.

Very nicely done! I especially like the “how are you” sentiment. I don’t think I have ever seen that before, anywhere, but it’s a really useful sentiment to own, isn’t it??? Thank so much.
Your peonies are gorgeous.
Wonderful cards! I like how you used the ocean mist cardstock and white ink to start your card. It’s lovely.
I had actually seen your you tube video for these beauties Simon! Lovely cards 🙂
Love the layering stamps.
Shading is so much easier and looks to
much better than when I try to shade
with the inks myself.
