Messy Watercolor Shading

Hello! Today I decided to create a card using a product I have neglected for a long time. The Zig Clean Color Pens are coming back and better than ever, for me anyways! I wanted to share how to get a messy watercolor look, but still get the amazing watercolor detailed shading look that I love.

For this technique I am using the A Cozy Day In stamp set from Newton’s Nook Designs. I love the image in this set and was so eager to color it in!

To start out, scribble a bunch of colors out onto an acetate sheet so you can pick them up from the sheet. When watercoloring (if you are a perfectionist like me) this technique can be hard, but just stay away from the edges and unsteady your hand while coloring. This will give you the desired messy watercolor look!

Cut the image out and use a tiny card base to add the image above the card fold. This gives the card a fun and different than usual look. Stamp your sentiment and your done!

Although this card was super simple the watercoloring really stands out as the bright focal point of the card.

Enjoy the video!
