Hi there! Now that your little kiddos are headed back to school, I thought it would be a fun idea to share how to create easy notes for their lunchboxes to let them know how much you love them while they are off at school.

I created all of the lunch box notes using the Love Note Pair die set. These versatile dies fold into mini envelopes and create a perfect heart shape when opened to reveal your colored image and encouraging sentiment. Also, I have an extra set of these awesome dies that I am excited to giveaway to one of you (scroll to the end of the post for details)!
One the first examples, I stamped images from the Bear Hugs, Mermaid For You, and Willy And Friends stamp sets and colored them in using vibrant Prismacolor Pencils.
For the second notes, I created more masculine designs using the Tiny Heroes stamp set and colored them in quickly using Zig Clean Color Brush Pens.

Simon, I love your ideas and the little dies are cute. Keep doing your videos’ I like watching them and getting ideas.
So cute and so encouraging for kids. I’ve been doing this for two years at my grandkids school. I watched Jennifer McGuire do a video similar to this. I make a bunch and give them to.a lead teacher to distribute to other teachers when they see a kid needs some love or encourament. It is fun.
What a fun die set, it would be fun to leave little notes for those teens (that would be inbarassed by lunch notes) to find on their computers or such. Thanks for your fun ideas!
I’m currently working on Halloween cards! 🎃Such a cute set! This would even be great for leaving sweet notes for friends or anyone!
I’ve been dying to get back into crafting – currently building up a portfolio of work for my marketing and communications course! As soon as uni is over though, my craft room will be calling me to get onto Christmas, anniversary and other cards! I love these lunch box ideas, they make me want to make some to sell at the local market for parents to show their kids some love.
Stay awesome!
Making someone smile with a little note, I love it! 🙂
I just finished making a birthday card for my grandmother, where red flowers (her favorite) were the main focus. Now I’m going to make a birthday card for my little nephew. Saw some awesome interactive cards. when you pull on the card the character on the card will move :O I will be making something like that. I’m so excited about it 😀
Great project! I always like your creations that are a little different from what I usually see. I like that these are rather quick to make! 🙂
I am working on some fall cards at the moment, I just love the colors!!
These are really adorable and such a great way to show the kids (or adults!) how much they mean to you.
I am working on a card for a challenge, to follow a sketch.
I am already subscribed to your you-tube and am now following you on Instagram.
Hi Simon – I’m a newbie to all this but you make it look fun and easy, so I want to try it. The little hearts with a message look perfect for tucking into my granddaughters’ lunchboxes. (And they’ll each say it’s from grandma, like a little hello from me)!
I don’t live close enough to them to see them very often, and I’m going to make some and send them to my daughter, to tuck them in the lunch boxes for me. Won’t they be surprised that grandma’ showed up’ at school! 🙂
Hey, Simon, Right now I am working on Fall/Thanksgiving cards. I just love Fall colors. Love your videos. It is refreshing to see that creativity isn’t lost in your generation. Thank you for the giveaway!
These are great. I’m working on Halloween cards right now, but these would be great for my nieces. What fun! Thank you for all your inspiration!
Hi SImon! ANOTHER WINNER! I love the way you spread love out to the world in these type of thoughtful love notes for children…. my mom used to draw smiley sun faces on our paper lunch bags and a heart on the inside. I guess she was ahead of her time. LOL. I am just finishing up galaxy magnets with dollar store glass beads and some larger glass beads that I found with flat back and flatter rounded tops. very cool looking. If I could figure out how to post a picture here in comments I would. I LOVE the heart shaped envelope and the other mini one is adorable. I have a grandson to make these for … to give to his mom to put in his lunches when he is older. He is only ten months old at present. I am the crafty grandma who is itching to give him edible finger paints and let him explore color and shapes and such.!! Thank you so much for all your gifted inspiration, Simon, keep spreading the love and thoughtfulness in the world! Wish we in the crafty community could figure out how to give these to bullies so they could learn to love themselves more and have less of a need to bully, yes?
Hi there! I love your videos. Lots of fun ideas. I’m currently working on a Batman birthday card, a Christmas tree book fold, and starting on my Christmas cards too. Thank you for the inspiration!
Simon these could NOT be any cuter! My grandson just started school and loves it. He is very creative and has known “primary colours” since he was 3. We make cards together all of the time so these are something that would really mean a lot to him in his lunch box each day. They are just adorable!
I am stamping off more images to colour as I have pretty much caught up on what I had stamped ahead for Kathy Rac’s Color Challenge.
I follow you on YT and IG as well as through email. I enjoy your fresh new ideas and tips that you share. See, you CAN teach and old dog new tricks! LOL
Thanks for the chance to win, I would certainly show them some seriously love!
I’m working on thank you cards with holiday cards to follow. Thank you for sharing your talent Simon.

These are super cute and kids will love it… currently I am working on some flipbooks… thanks for the chance to win…
I think these are such a sweet idea for children. I was not blessed with kids but I know I would have benefited from something like this when I was a child. As for the project I’m working on now, it would be holiday cards. It’s never too early to start! I follow your blog and your YouTube channel but sadly I don’t have Instagram (I tried to get it but I can’t download apps as I only have an old-school flip- phone). I hope I still qualify. I enjoy your blog and your channel very much – you are so creative and have inspired me many times.
Very cute and great idea for the lunch box. Right now I am working on Thanksgiving cards for a lady at church.
Very cute idea I would love to do that for my niece. I am stamping images to color & cut out for a variety of cards. Trying to play around before committing to a card but Halloween & Fall Cards are on my to do list. Thank you for sharing your tutorials you make everything look so easy!
Such a sweet idea Simon. I ended up feeling super inspired and created my first ever lunch box note for my 4yr old. I’m currently also working on a weekly calendar of his weekly schedule so he can figure out what’s happening each day (PE, library bag day, school bus day, ect.) Blog post coming soon!
Right now I’m getting prepared to start my Christmas cards. I made around 300 last year so I need a bit of an early start. I loved your video using these dies. I am unable to have children but I have many children in my life that I make crafty things for. This would be so fun to win. Thanks for the chance.
Congratulations Tiffany… you won! Be sure to check respond to the email that I sent you to claim your prize. Thanks for entering! 🙂
My daughter is in her tweens, but would love something like this in her lunchbox. Just for fun. And you never know when your kid is having a rough day, so a little surprise inside always makes you feel good.
I need to start on Christmas cards, but we’re in the midst of figuring out how to care for a surprise bunny we rescued 3 weeks ago, and this morning we woke up to 6 baby bunnies. So maybe I should find some bunny stamps :).
Another great video, Simon. I’m so glad the stamps don’t scream when you cut them! Thank you for more great ideas. Right now my projects are making Christmas cards & trying to figure out something to make for a new great niece coming in January. P.S. I follow you as msaba5 on Instagram. Love your ideas!
I’m working on Christmas cards right now. You are terrific, Simon. Keep doing what you do!!!
Currently I am working on organizing my craft area and putting my new dies on magnets then in stamp pockets. As I do this, I have card making YouTube Videos playing on my IPad!
As I work, I am inspired to make something, so I stop and create.
This then makes a mess, so I clean and the whole process happens again! lol
Great projects Simon! My son is 14 , sometimes I can get him to make cards. I follow you on Instagram and YouTube, as well as in my RSS reader. You do a great job! I am getting ready to start my Christmas cards very soon.
I follow your U-tube channel but I don’t do Instagram.
Spend too much time on FB and U-Tube.
Love the little notes. they would be fun to put
in my husband’s lunch box too.

each monthly meeting. these little notes might turn into
one of the projects. thanks again.
I am currently working on an adventure mini album.

My mom and one of my best friends fare turning 90 within 4 days of each other. I’m trying to make some cards worthy of their years.
Thank you for this opportunity! I am making a card for my uncles wedding. It’s turning out nicely! I am soon going to start on my Christmas cards! Yay! Thank you again
Love your videos! You’re a very talented artsy fartsy guy.
Today I’m making a “fee better” card for a really cool old hippie friend of mine. Then it’s on to Christmas cards for friends, family and a local rehab hospital near my home. I wanna spread a little homemade cheer to patients and workers stuck there at Christmastime. I will definitely use some of the tips from your videos. Thanks for sharing your gifts and talents with us!
Great video and as a mom of I love this idea. I’ve often put real little notes in their boxes but this would be perfect for my preK son since he can’t read yet! 😂 I’ve followed and subscribed. Thanks for the chance!
