Hey there! Today (by popular request) I am excited to share how to create light up cards with fairy lights. These lights allow for a cheap way to create large lit up backgrounds on cards and other crafting projects!

I started by creating a scene using the Lighthouse Collage die and trees from the Home and Hearth die set. This is a good die for this technique because there is lots of open space for the light to come through!
On the back of the panel, I added two layers of vellum to hold the lights in and avoid seeing the individual bulbs. Then I created a border using foam tape to seal in the string lights leaving an open space for the battery pack to hang out. I don’t mind the battery pack and switch hanging out, but you could creatively hide it in the card.
I finished off the card by creating a sentiment with the Luggage Tag Alphabet and You Get Me stamp sets.
