Hey friends! Today’s video is an exciting collab with Alexandra from The Hedgehog Hollow sharing how to use and incorporate backgrounds into your cards. She created 4 backgrounds using Simon Hurley create. inks and sent them to me to turn into cards!

DIE CUTTING
Die cutting is a great way to use backgrounds in creative ways on your cardmaking projects. For this background, I use the So Many Yays dies to cut out a large word from the background. You can still use the rest of the background on another card!
To finish the card, I ink blended the background using the Spaced Dots stencil with Slippery When Wet and Over The Moon inks to create a grounding place for the image. Then, I colored and added the little girl image from the Bestest Friends stamp set!
MAKING A SCENE
The second background was created using the Looks Like Rain stencil and some foiling… it has a grounding place for images and is almost complete. To finish off this card, I used images from the Bestest Friends stamp set to create a rainy day scene. I colored the images in using Simon Hurley create. reinker waterbrushes and added them onto the card!
See how Alexandra created these fun backgrounds HERE!
