Emboss Resist Nuvo Mousse Backgrounds

Hi friends! In today’s video, I am sharing a few fun ways to create colorful blended and colorful resist backgrounds using embossing powder and Nuvo Mousse.

To add Nuvo Mousse onto your card, always use tools to apply the product (never add anything or touch your hand in the jar). Always use sponges to apply color or bring the mousse to a different surface before adding water. This protects the mousse from getting bacteria into the jar.

For the first card, I shared how to create a simple blended background using the Nuvo Mousse plain against a clear embossed background on black cardstock. The mousse shows up beautifully on dark colored cardstock against the design.

On the second example, I shared a similar blending technique using kraft cardstock. I blended together a few shades of green and wiped off the excess mousse from the embossed design.

For the next example, I added water to the Nuvo Mousse and created a card similar to the first one. Adding water to the mousse creates a chalky effect and gives the colors a more painted effect.

On the fourth card, I added water to the mousse and applied it to the center of an embossed background with a water brush. Adding water to the mousse creates a somewhat opaque watercolor with lots of the same drying properties as the plain mousse.

I wanted to share a quick and simple way to create a very elegant card using this technique. For the last card, I blended a few shades of blue in a circle design to create an ombre background on an embossed background. To finish off the card, I added a glitter “many thanks” die cut onto the card.
