Die Cutting With Press N Seal

Hi friends! Today’s video shares how to create beautiful paper embellishments using layering dies and another unique way to layer them using Press ‘n Seal.

For all of today’s cards, I used the Sparkler Butterfly layering die set from Birchpress design. I love the unique and beautiful results that these layering dies give and will be sharing even more ways to use them in future videos!

For the first example, I shared how to layer them up like they are meant to do. I created my own colored papers using Distress Oxide inks to create a watercolor look and used them to die cut the butterflies. Then, I adhered the die cuts on top of each other and coated them using clear embossing powder. This adds a gloss finish to the die cut and makes it stand out on your card project! I love to use the very encouraging sentiments from the Butterfly Kisses stamp set.

On the second card, I created my own rainbow paper using Distress Oxides to die cut the Layer A die and Layer D from white. With all of the pieces still in the die, I used a piece of Press ‘n Seal to pick them all up at once and save some time. This allows me to add bits of foam tape to the back of each piece and adhere them to layer D quickly. I finished off the card with the Hello Sugar Script die with Nuvo Glaze to make it stand out!

Here is a bonus card that I created. On this card, I colored the pieces separately on the Press ‘n Seal for a different effect! I finished this off with the Thanks Sugar Script die coated in clear embossing powder for a similar result.

There were leftover outlines from these cards, so I was able to create another simple card using the same die cut. I finished this card off with a few gems and a simple sentiment from the Butterfly Wishes stamp set.
