Hey everyone! Today I have a post that is a little out of the ordinary, but it was super fun to make and it is packed with information. There are 6 easy life hacks in today’s tutorial and I hope to create more of these types of videos in the future! 🙂
Here are the hacks:
Ink Pad Into Watercolor Palette – This hack is simple, just take the lid off of your ink pad and smoosh the ink into it. This way you can use you water brush to activate the color and watercolor onto your cardstock. You can leave the ink inside the lid and it won’t effect the inkpad at all.
Making  Stamps Stick Again – When you overuse your clear stamps and they no longer stick to the packaging or acrylic blocks there is a simple fix. Just take your stamp cleaner and spray it onto a sponge or stamp scrubber (you can also just use a baby wipe). Then, wipe the cling part of the stamp onto the cleaner and dry it off. This should make your stamps sticky again!
Cleaning All The Plastic Things – You may think that the Novus cleaner is only for the MISTI. Although that is common sense, you are wrong! The versatile cleaner can actually be used to clean any plastic surface in your craft room! I use it to fix my paper trimmer and shine my acrylic blocks, but the possibilities are endless. All you need to do is spray the cleaner onto a paper towel or rag and just wipe whatever plastic surface you need!
Pre-Cut And Scored Card Bases – This hack is a HUGE time saver for card makers! All you need to do is take a ream of card stock and cut it in half to make card bases. Then, score the paper in half and crease them down to prep the cards. When you finish a card you can just pull out a card base and add the panel onto it.
Teflon No Mark Bone Folder – This last one isn’t really a hack, but it’s more of just a tool that is super helpful and is great to have! Any bone folder that is cheaper or that you might get with a scoreboard makes terrible shiny marks on cards, but with the Teflon coated bone folder it makes a perfect crease with no marks. Although this tool is a bit more expensive, it would make a great Christmas gift!

Good tips Simon.
Fun ideas [most I use ;)] I take my ream of paper to Office Max and they cut it for $2! Saves me a ton of time hand cutting for my card bases.
Cool! Thanks for the tips! Happy Thanksgiving! 🙂
Thanks Simon — picked up a couple of ideas. And your presentation is great, too. Keep it up.
Learned of this trick a few weeks ago. Mr. Clean Magic Erasers (U.S. household cleaning product) will clean your acrylic blocks.
Great Video…use all your tips already and they DO work! Here’s an additional tip: rub your die with a dryer sheet before you die cut…paper falls out of your die easily, no build up like with waxed paper, can be used over and over again.

Some great ideas here. One of my favorites is to use floss threaders to thread string or ribbon through button holes. Floss threaders are for threading floss behind braces to floss your teeth and can be found in most “drug stores” like CVS, Target or the like. So much easier than trying to get it through that tiny little hole on it’s own.
Thanks for another great video!
