One Layer Card Masking + Colored Pencil Tips

Hi there! I’m always scared of creating one layer cards, but I decided to try my hand at creating two one layer cards and show you how to make it easy. Today’s video is going to show you how to make two cards with stamp masking, colored pencil coloring, and stamps from Neat And Tangled.

For both of the cards, I used the MISTI to stamp all of my images without any mistakes. This assures that I wouldn’t ruin the┬ácards while creating and masking the scenes!

LUMBERJACK SCENE CARD

For the first card, I stamped down my scene with the Lumberjack Love stamp set beginning with the front images and masked them off using stamp masking paper to stamp the rest of the scene. Then, I colored in all of the images in using Prismacolor pencils (blending and coloring details in video). Also, there is a BIG sale on Prismacolor pencils the day this post goes.

INK BLENDED TEDDY BEAR CARD

I stamped and colored the teddy bear using the same process as the other card. Then, I masked off the teddy bear and blended the background using mini Distress Inks in the colors: Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber, Mermaid Lagoon, and Seedless Preserves.

At the end of both cards, I embellished with Spectrum Noir Shimmer Pen and Glossy Accents. This helps to add detail even though it is a one layer card.
