Metallic Stamp Layering Accents (Gilding Flakes)

Hi there! Today’s video shares a fun way to use stamp layering sets by adding little metallic accents on stamped images for a unique and stunning effect. There are many ways to achieve this effect, however today I will be showing how to use gilding flakes to create a textured/foiled looking metallic that is beautiful!

For both of the cards, I used the adorable Cozy Cardinal layering stamp set that includes awesome little spots that are great for adding a touch of metallic shine. After stamping the layering images with colored inks, I stamped the additional spots in Versamark and added Sticky heat embossing powder (this special powder is needed to ensure that the flakes will stick). I added small pieces of the gilding flakes on and buffed them into the spots using a stippling brush to make sure that they are stuck in place and won’t come off.

On this example, I used the Radiant Gold gilding flakes to complement the red tones that I used to stamp the adorable cardinal.

For the second card, I added the Silver Button gilding flakes to go along with my little blue bird.

To finish off the cards, I die cut the coordinating branch die using Heather Gray felt to add some fun and unexpected texture on the cards. I also used the Magic Of The Season stamp set for some beautiful Christmas sentiments!
