Hey there! Today you will get sucked into the craze of the amazing galaxy pattern, as I have already. Galaxy designs is something I have always loved and today’s video will show how to paint a galaxy background for your cards using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.
To start off the painted background scribble on some bright colors of Zig Clean Color Pens and blend them out using a watercolor brush. Once dry, cover most of the paper using black Gansai Tambi watercolor paint leaving lots of color still peeking out. I used Gansai Tambi paint because it is slightly more opaque and covers the color well. The color fades when dry, so I added another layer of black paint to darken the galaxy sky.
Trim one inch of a gap in the middle of the background for a simple sentiment or die cut. I used a simple HI die cut from Tim Holtz to cut out some of my galaxy.
This card was supposed to have a bunch of galaxy fish on it, however plans change and I decided to use this depressed monster. Let me give you his backstory: this monster found some balloons and decided he needed them, however the balloons took him to the galaxy for a party and he is not excited!
I used Prismacolor pencils to color in the monster stamp and give him a nice furry texture. When you have a distracting background keep it simple with the image. I colored the monster grey and incorporated pops of colors that were used in the background.
Enjoy the video!

Nice! I like how you started out with fish in mind and then switched it up. The monster fits the galaxy look MUCH better! I’ve seen several galaxy videos. I guess I should try it! Thanks for sharing.
