Hi all! In today’s video I wanted to show that Crayola colored pencils work very well as a great beginner color medium. They are an awesome cheap alternative to more expensive colored pencils and they blend very well.
I used the Hero Arts Woodland Creatures stamp set because it has some great outline critter images to color in. If you have gamsol you can also use that to blend out your colored pencils if needed.
I found using a light hand with a circular motion helps blend the colors very well. Also, working in layer helps build up shadow, depth, and dimension on your scene.
I stamped the sentiment “what’s up?” using black Simon Says Stamp ink next to the squirrel flat on the card.
Overall, I love the results that these colored pencils give. They blend very well and add great vibrant colors to your projects. If you are just starting out these would be great to see if you would want to invest further in more expensive colored pencils. I will definitely be using these on cards in the future for more coloring!
Enjoy the video!

Simon you did a great job on this card using the Crayola pencils. I love the way you used many of the tips and tricks that you use with Copics and other coloring mediums. This card is a great way to inspire the new card maker who has limited supplies and funds to just jump in and get started. Very inspiring Simon thanks you”
