Hi friends! In today’s video, I am excited to share how to create three ways to create unique belly bands that hold the cards closed for the recipient. These cards are so much fun to create and the belly bands are a prominent part of the design.

For the first card, I created a sunset background using Distress Oxide inks and a Backdrop stamp. This stamp is solid and doesn’t look like much, but it can create some really awesome stamped technique backgrounds! Adding color using the stamp allows me to get a solid and very vibrant background.
I used a strip of vellum to create the belly band so that it doesn’t fully cover the stamped background. I stamped and colored images from the adorable Stay Cool stamp set and added them onto the belly band. To finish it off, I stamped and embossed my sentiment using Princess Gold embossing powder to make it stand out. The bellyband takes center stage and really helps to finish off the card!
On the second example, I created a belly band using white cardstock and stamped images from the Snow Cool stamp set directly onto the belly band. This allowed me to cut around the image and have it stick out of the belly band to create a unique effect that I love!
To finish the card, I used the Fa La La cover plate die and stenciled white pigment ink onto the background. This adds a bit of extra detail and completes the card nicely!
On the last card, I created an interactive belly band using the Penguin Treat Holder die on vellum. This die creates a penguin that is pure awesomeness and he is even able to hold a candy cane in the flippers! This would be so great to create a few of these and hand them out to teachers or students as a little holiday treat!
